A man of great passion and artistic ability, Seattle's Rod Long is a fine art photographer, writer, stand-up comedian and father of 4 boys. He holds degrees in Journalism (Seattle University) and Motion Picture Production (Brooks Institute of Photography). Before comedy, Rod's audience was 2 million readers worldwide that read his monthly column and photographer interviews in Petersen's Photo Graphic Magazine. Interview credits include famed Hollywood glamour photographer George Hurrell, New York Times Middle Eastern photographer Micha Bar Am and Vanity Fair cover shooter Neal Barr.
Long describes his photography as editorial fine-art with an emphasis on hand-tinted black-and-white his monologue as bee-bop comedy-with an emphasis on current events and sports humor. The winner of both the Seattle International Comedy Competition and Emerald City's Funniest Person, he has opened for Lou Rawls, Ray Charles, Smokey Robinson, Arturo Sandoval and the Temptations among other notables. As the opening act for jazz vocalist Dianne Schurr, Long received a standing ovation at the National Tour Association Convention in Cleveland. Comedy and photography have taken him from Tokyo, London and Monte Carlo to Bermuda, Nassau and San Juan. Also many less glamorous gigs in between.
